Perfect Dark Zero Sequel April 11, 2007

Remember Perfect Dark Zero when the Xbox 360 launched? It was the prequel to Perfect Dark, some people didn’t like the game and thought it didn’t live up to expectations. I enjoyed the game a lot and still play it today. Back in January 2007 a new book was released called Perfect Dark: Second Front to go along with the Perfect Dark videogames and continue the story. Well here is something from the May 2007 issue of OXM in the Rumor Mole Section:
The Mole’s pals in the book industry have tipped us off to a sequel to Perfect Dark Zero by way of a press release announcing the next novel in the paperback series that also mentions a follow-up to the game…
Would you purchase the sequel by Rare? I know I will, Perfect Dark Zero was a great game. Or this game could just get ignored because it isn’t Halo. So here’s a tip Rare on developing the game: have party matchmaking in it and people will like it more.

[...] The rumour mill is churning out another juicy one. This time the launch game Perfect Dark: Zero is rumoured to be getting a sequel, according to a press release in relation to a new book based on the games. [...]
Hmm.. I liked PDZs MP, but the single player was horrible, and barely worth playing for the achievments. I think I may rent it first if they are making one, but I mean, they’d have to:
- Update the graphics
- Make a decent single player, that has a decent length and is fun to paly
- Have a less glitchy MP
- Smarter AI
- More fair bots. Just because you put it to Dark Agent on MP doesn’t mean a rocket to the motherfuckin’ face should leave them still charging you, killing you in one headshot. They should have balanced health to make it possible to kill them, instead of dying and rocketing them multiple times.

I would definitely buy it for the multiplayer alone.PDZ was my favorite game for many months because of the competitive nature of the multiplayer. Now the single player was not the greatest in my opinion but the addition of co-op made it a little easier to get into. For a next gen game PDZ didn’t really offer any next gen content. The graphics were decent but could have been much better. As long as Rare doesn’t rush this title as they obviously did with PDZ it will be a game many people will be anticipating.Things I would offer to Rare as advice on developement would be as follows.
1.Speed up the multiplayer gameplay because the first was pretty slow paced for the most part.
2.Update the graphics but keep the cartoony feel of PDZ.
3.Balance the weapons. For example, speed up the Reload times loose the cheap weapons like the Hawk and the Superdragon (or atleasst give the SD a smaller grenade capacity) and makes Hand grenades functional ( the grenades from PDZ were useless)
4.Make the vehicles enjoyable because while the Hovercraft looked cool it was also useless and no fun at all
5.Update the cover mechanics and maybe “borrow” from Gears of War a little bit
I could go on and on but I’m sure it won’t get read by anyone who would listen to the plees of a Die Hard fan of PDZ.Just make the game and make it better.Nuff said.
