In the United States of America Bungie had conducted the signing up of the Halo 3 Beta through their own site and reminded you if selected you may not sell your code for money. In Europe members of the XCN, Xbox Community Network in which we hope to join some form of Microsoft run community sites one day, were given codes to sign up for the Halo 3 beta. Apparently one of the sites sold the codes out to people for money according to BritXbox.

Microsoft stated: “If your site is found to be one of the offenders you will not receive any beta codes and will be removed from the XCN with immediate effect. We will also ensure that Microsoft will no longer have any involvement with your site.” and “we are rather shocked that this privilege has been abused in such a way.”

It is shocking, being a community site, to think someone would have done it. It is one thing if they kept one code for themself as they all will but to sell them? Hopefully the Xbox Community Sites in America aren’t looked down on also because of this move.

Master Chief would be upset.
