Still No Pinatas and Arms December 26, 2006

Last week Major Nelson wasn’t connected to his computer so he couldn’t post the Top Ten for Xbox Live, he was back at his computer posting away again today after his Christmas with the Xbox Live Top Ten back. After a pretty strong start Small Arms has dipped off significantly not even making the Xbox Live top ten list, it appears as all arcade titles are that way. They do good in their first week of release then everyone moves on to the next title (well other than Novadrome which didn’t make the list.) Viva Pinata has never cracked the top ten though, I don’t know why. It feels like this is Pshyconauts all over, a critcally acclaimed game that no one plays. Hopefully it picks up some steam soon. For the rest here is what rounds out the Top Ten with Gears of War still on top.

Xbox 360 Top Live Titles (UU’s)
1 Gears of War
2 Call Of Duty 3
3 Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Vegas
4 Assault Heroes
5 Madden NFL 07
6 Call of Duty 2
7 Oblivion
8 Ghost Recon 3
9 Saints Row
10 Tony Hawk’s Project 8 Demo

Does Viva Pinata have a live multiplayer component? This list is the top XBox Live” titles. As I understand it, Viva Pinata does not qualify. It’s the same thing with Live Arcade titles. Great games like, Outpost Kaloki are only single player so they will never appear on this list, but it doesn’t mean that no one is playing them 🙂

This does mean that fewer people are playing the “Live” version of Small Arms.

Everyone has stated that about viva pinata but Oblivion has no multiplayer component in the game and remains a top title so I don’t believe that is true, on Xbox 360 if you are logged in to Xbox Live and playing a gaming it counts as a top title, I may be wrong but I don’t think I am.
