While on youtube today I noticed a terrible Xbox 360 commericial for Japan. If Microsoft wants any market share they better make some better ads quick, not do do do.

Crackdown Done – Release It! January 31, 2007

We know Crackdown went gold and is shipping to retailers very soon. I called up Gamestop asking the release date and this was his response:

“Let me check the computer. Just a second. Alright, we get it February 13, probably before that. Wait – February 20 is when we’ll sell it.”

Release the game Microsoft! Why wait? Major Nelson, John Porcaro, and two more Microsoft employees are already playing the game!

512 MB? January 31, 2007

Gamestop listed a 256 MB Memory Card a long time ago but today upgraded it to 512 MB and with a release date of March 1 and the small price of $50 (it’s a good price considering it is eight times greater than the first one which cost $40.) A picture was also featured that looked like the first memory card. This makes sense as the Xbox Live Arcade limit has been increased to 250 MB according to various rumors.

GRAW 2 Demo January 31, 2007

There is now a GRAW 2 demo on Xbox Live Marketplace. It took me about a half hour to beat and was relatively easy. The visuals are outstanding and stand out from GRAW 1 with many improvements. It felt to similar to GRAW though which was fun at first but got me bored in the end. Ubisoft loves it sequels.

Go download the demo now as it is good and offers a brief glimpse of the game.

2K8 Goes All Pro… Football!!! January 31, 2007

Posted by dpcough in Xbox/ Xbox 360 General.

Towards the end of 2004 a terrible announcement was made. EA locked up the NFL license exclsuively. It was evident how they put less work into Madden NFL 06 and 07 than the other titles. NFL 2K5 was great and the competition made Madden great that year too. 2K convinced many to buy NFL 2K5 with its $20 price. T.O. was on the cover, he’s changed uniforms (Dallas sucks) and 2K Football disappeared because they couldn’t make a NFL football game.

Well today 2K Sports announced All-Pro Football 2K8! The series will return this summer. I couldn’t find any screenshots on it so I don’t know how the visuals are back but its good that it was announced finally. So what will you buy All-Pro Football 2K8 or Madden 08? I’ll buy both unless Madden doesn’t improve at all. Comment your thoughts, 2K is back in football!!!

There’s also an interview with the developers of the game at Gamespot. It’s two pages long and pretty lengthy. Good read though.

Reccommendation for 2K8: Don’t put a football player on the cover, bad things happen to athletes on covers of football games.

On Thursday a Def Jam Icon demo is being released and on Friday there will be an NBA Street Homecourt demo released Deaconblade360 said. So 2 EA demos in 2 Days. Two free downloads from EA in two days, they didn’t start charging for demos of games yet. That is planned though probably in the near future if their microtransaction streak remains.

Crackdown Cracks Records January 30, 2007

Lost Planet’s demo was downloaded a lot. The Halo 3 trailer was downloaded a lot (servers were really slow that day.) Fight Night Round 3’s demo was downloaded a lot.

Crackdown broke records for most 24 hour downloads and the weekly download record. While it has gathered a lot more attention since the Halo 3 beta announcement a lot of people have liked the demo. I enjoyed it a lot. The co-op was great fun and was a fantastic demo. Did I mention it comes with the Halo 3 beta? No figures were announced but this is good for Crackdown, Microsoft has another IP on its hands. Another thing with this demo was it wasn’t even out for Silver Members like the other content was.

Bill Gates on The Daily Show January 30, 2007

Posted by dpcough in Xbox/ Xbox 360 General.

He never discusses Xbox 360 but it is Bill Gates and Windows Vista is released. He was on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart last night and here is the video. At the end I’m not sure if it shows it as I saw it on TV but he runs off to hop on a plane to go to London.

No Game This Week! January 30, 2007

I was reading through the comments and did comment on the posting over at Gamerscoreblog on the new arcade titles and noticed a bad fact. I wondered what game would be released this week and while scrolling down the comments John Porcaro answers the question.

“As a matter of fact, there is no game tomorrow…  ”

There should be a new Arcade game tommorow but Microsoft just released Vista and will probably give everyone a week off until work begins on Vista 2 and Xbox 720. I want a new Arcade game but oh well.
