M.I.A. Games February 2, 2007Posted by dpcough in Editorals.
update, i’m leaving for vacation, had a few delays! first day of vacation, first dedicated opinion column – good day! cya – go eagles!
I will now do editorials, basically it’s just a lot of opinion. Here’s the first one!
IGN published a list of games on the original Xbox that were announced. Then dead. Lots of the games seemed pretty good so I decided to sort through the crappy games and bring you the best games that need to be made on the list.
B.C. was being made by Lionhead Studios back in 2002. At E3 2002 it was half done and when reading over old documents it looked very promising. You controlled a tribe of caveman in B.C. of course and develop them into a civilization throughout the Fertile Crescent. It can be argued Molyneux always over promised but people played it and said it was like it was described. Microsoft has no plans to revive it but they should. It’s up to Molyneux on it’s fate. It definetly looked good.
I’ll sum this up briefly, it is a huge MMO in a prison that the prisoners broke out and lots of things change the world. Two years ago it disappeared and the dev team did to, they were very active in forums but just vanished. What happened two years ago? Xbox 360 development started. Microsoft said to stay tuned so there will be announcements later this year, this game will have big potential as other MMOs on 360 sucked (PSO and FFXI.)
I can remember my cousins buying a Dreamcast and Shenmue and it was a fantastic game. The Dreamcast died and Microsoft published Shenmue II for Xbox. I played that game to as my cousins got it when the got Xbox for Halo 1. Both Shenmues were great but had massive budgets and were fantastic. It was supposed to be three titles in the series but a third one was never announced but one needs to be made. What happened to Ryo? We will never know, it’s not in development but the creator wants to make a third one if there’s a demand. There is a demand! So make one!
Xbox had a lot of great titles and some never made it to the gold stage of the process but they still remain in memory and by fans who want them published. What games do you want that went missing or had something bad happen? Other notables were Starcraft: Ghost and Fallout 3.
