New Gears Maps March 6, 2007

A rumor has started about three new Gears of War maps and weapons. I’m a bit puzzled by weapons but it will be nice with a few more weapons and maps. I’m not sure if these are true but the trusty Rumor Finder of Live Gamer (or a hoax by Elite Gunner IV) says they are so let’s wait and see if they are announced at GDC this week.
UPDATE Xbox 360 Fanboy did some more searching and found out that a rumor from EGM states that maps and some other downloadable content would be released. There are three maps and three weapons below, something tells me that Elite Gunner IV wasn’t lying. And also the achievements will be changed so you can earn them in player matches also, hopefully that does happen because ranked matches can’t be played with friends.

I Heard about this Rumor about 3 new maps and new weapons but come on guys Epic Games would say something about the Updates a week earlyer they did that with the other 2 maps so this is total bullshit.

Gears of War when i first played it amazed me, online was even better, although i was very crap at it from the start. Its the fucking bollocks man, i love using shot gun to kick ass. (Harse!)

wellllllll ive been hearing about this for many days now and the supposed date of march 12th is obviously BS, but i have some sneaking suspicion that this stuff will be released on the 27th. why??? xbox live is being shut down for 14 hrs. from 1 am till 3 pm (i think… ^_’) and shivering isles, the expansion for tes 4: oblivion, comes out on the 27th, and so i believe that they are shutting down the servers to get all this hubbub up and make sure it doesnt crash like gears did for 12 hrs a few months back and like it almost did when they released the new gears maps (btw imao raven down suckks assmo) you dig?? unless there is some confirmed reason that the servers will be down on the 27th that idk about, then this is my bet

flamethrower…. idk it might be ok cause id love to roast ppl and watch them burn to the ground personally, but i think it would be uber cheap once ppl figured out exactly how to use it and when they eventually find a way to glitch it like the chinsaw glitch (haha, chainsaw, not “chinsaw” ^_’) so idk
plasma cannon… believable and ok it would also be cool to see people get atomized by plasma, but then again it could wind up being cheap and i agree w/ whoever up there said that it is full of crap cause imulsion is gears of war’s “thing” but plasma is still believable
dual uzis……… i almost 110% believe that they would make this weapon. why?? cause lately, the stuff that epic has done with gears has sucked hairy gooches, dont u agree(lol)?? uzis, in real life, spray bullets wherever the f**ck they want, so double uzis would be acceptable u would hardly evr be hit with one if they made it realistic which i think they would….

i feel that this update will be most epic,it should indeed add intensity to most of the rounds.
I also heard that they might be releasing a rapid fire shotgun. I’m not sure if it’s true but that would be cool. Of course it won’t be as powerful as the pump shotgun but I can’t wait.

hmmm. nothing new for gears…that was way too long for Live to be down. i sat on major nelsons blog for like an hour waiting for it to come back online. one thing i did notice while hosting a gears ranked match was that i could hear some of the other players on the other team while playing and my teammates could hear me when they died and told me where the other teams players were. it was nice…won three ranked matches in a row before hopping off. they probably should have done something to fix that. oh well
I am sick of the F**!@#@ RUMORS!!! When are the new weapons and maps coming out. I have been waiting for a couple of weeks for this to happen and it hasn’t. My friends said on my friends list on Xbox live {Xbox 360} that they were supposed to update the Xbox live Marketplace last night 3/27/07. Thanks.

I’ve stated several times (on several other sites) That the update has been with-held due to a last minute call for a new game type. The game type is called “Annex” mode. It will all be packaged together and due for release in Mid July.

That may not be true they also said that there was going to be a 2x scope sniper rifle and a scoped torque bow and then something else but im not too sure about the maps you might be right about those
The new game type is supposidly coming out on the 9th but that is not set in stone. It is the 7th and the update is still in MCP (microsoft certification process). I am guessing the 15th or even the 20th as a release date.

Annex is a hell of a game type. and the maps are supposidly being held for afte the WCV to end. They are supposed to appear in the finals for the GoW part in WCV so nobody knows the map. After that they will be out for download. or so its been said.

I doubt this. Those weapons aren’t exactly very Gears-ish anyway. Flamethrower is slightly possible; it’s horrifically destructive. A plasma cannon? Gears is too “earthly” for that. And uzis? Yeah right! What would even be the point?

He’s wrong. The maps you’ve shown are the four new maps just released in the new patch, and they don’t resemble the maps that were described in the post on this web site one bit. Also, no new weapons were added.
Epic Games has stated that no new weapons will be released. Gears of War 2 will have new weapons, new characters, and new maps. So just wait for that.
