The original Prince of Persia will be coming to XBLA very soon. Here is video footage of the game:

The game won’t be polygons that look like Mario, it is a complete graphical overhaul of the entire game. Other than that it will probably be the same thing with leaderboards, achievements, and maybe multiplayer. Let’s hope. This will be a classic worth purchasing because it won’t look like this:

Shadowrun Runs to Gold May 9, 2007

Shadowrun has been given a release date finally when Microsoft announced today it has gone gold twice, for the PC and Xbox 360. The game will ship to retailers on May 29. to mark the first cross platform game on Xbox 360 with play between Xbox 360 and PC users over Games for Windows Live and Xbox Live. The game is excellent from my impression of it through the beta. Just a reminder to everyone who doesn’t have Xbox Live, this game is only multiplayer.

“After a 5,000-year absence, magic has returned to the world of “Shadowrun.” It is 2031 and global corporations battle a relentless ancient order to harness this reawakened power. Be a part of the RNA, a global mega-corporation, and bring order (and profit) to a world of chaos. Or join the Lineage to keep magic wild and free at all costs. Choose a side and wage war for the future of magic in the new world of “Shadowrun.” Players vie for supremacy in an intense FPS experience, in the “Shadowrun” universe, that rewards cleverness, cunning and split-second improvisation through a unique combination of modern weapons, ancient magic and advanced technology.

The game from Japan and Xbox 360 exclusive Wartech has gotten a publisher in Ubisoft for North America and Europe. It is set to launch in May. It has an arcade feel with mechs and was developed by G.Rev Ltd. It adds to the few mech titles that have been released for Xbox 360 so far. This game may cure some of the mech fans who are waiting for Mech Assault 3 to release, oh wait Microsoft said it isn’t in development.

The place of the weekly Bungie Update and everything Halo has had the site completely remodeled in preparation for the Fall 2007 release of Halo 3. The explanation of why it was remodeled is here. The site looks great now thanks to the remodel. Here are stats that stood out to me from Halo 2 – over 4.5 billion player games (each player counts as one), 670 million actual games (every game played counts as one), over 4.75 million different gamertags, and almost 7 million different clans.

Forza Motorsport 2 Dated March 5, 2007

When it comes to Live Gamer covering Japanese press releases we stumble upon we definitely do not have a good track record (Okami and Godhand are coming to Xbox 360!) But on Xbox.com there is a Japanese press release about Forza Motorsport 2, the highly anticipated sequel to Forza Motorsport. We know they wanted a global release and it was coming in May. Now according to the Japanese Press Release the game will come out on May 24 worldwide. This is one of many of Microsoft’s high profile releases this year that will release by Halo 3, don’t ignore it. But it when it comes out with the force feedback wheel which I want re-bundled with Forza instead of PGR 3 but that’d be asking a lot.

People Like Free Demos, They Really Do February 18, 2007

Welcome to a new part of Live Gamer! Every week when Major Nelson gives his stats for the week of Arcade demos there will be analysts of the list. Welcome to the first of many. So every Sunday now there’ll be editorials and more!

This week the usual heavy hitters remained in their top spots with Gears of War on top again then Call of Duty 3 and Rainbow Six Vegas like usual with Madden, Oblivion, and Lost Planet filling the voids in between the retail games then to my shock 4 games had demos in the top 10. The two EA Titles Homecourt and Icon and then Crackdown and GRAW 2. People download demos because they are free and want to try out a game before it is released. The demos are free too, remember they are free so we download them. So that begs the question if Best Buy had an Xbox 360 game for free regardless of if it had ads in it would you buy it and play it? We would… just giving developers an idea – a budget title with some ads that is free… people will play it. Come on, the Sonic demo cracked the top ten the week it came out and it sucked! People like free stuff.

https://dpcough.files.wordpress.com/2007/02/img13.jpg

Paperboy really was total crap this week on Arcade it didn’t even crack the top ten, usually an Arcade game gets attention its first week but Paperboy didn’t crack top ten, while it maintained top in Arcade that is expected from a title’s first week release. Paperboy really sucked though. Full list after the break.

There are some new screenshots of Alan Wake that have been released today.

They are bigger than the dimensions of this page so I uploaded them on Flickr!

The game comes out in 2008, it hasn’t been officially announced as 2008 but trust me – that and Fable 2 in 2008. This game will have an amazing story on what I’ve heard – you should look forward to this.

Brady Quinn February 2, 2007

Looks like Notre Dame quarterback and first round draft choice Brady Quinn has been signed to be a spokesperson for Microsoft. He will also start blogging on Xbox.com leading up to the draft on April 28th. The press release also states how 45% of gamers are active while 1/3 of non-gamers aren’t active meaning gamers are active! Sports titles also account for 30% of Xbox 360’s sales for software suprisingly. There will also be a Game With Fame on April 27th with him, details for that will be announced in the future. Press release is after break.
