GRAW 2 (a version of GRAW but with slightly better gameplay and graphics) was released yesterday and now there is a huge 72 hour tournament on Xbox Live. Good luck to all GRAW enthusiasts. Make sure you go to that link above so you can win the prizes, you need to sign up first. There will also be a chance for you to play the game developers. I saw a big GRAW 2 set in Best Buy today but picked up DDR instead, good choice?

Xbox Live Milestones March 6, 2007

Today Microsoft announced a stat, there are six million subscribers to Xbox Live, this goal was reached four months ahead of schedule. They also announced that over 5 Billion points have been sold to us. Xbox Live’s top title remains Halo 2 followed by Gears and Hexic HD. The top arcade title is Street Fighter II.

The stats are pretty good but are solid and should be the stats Xbox Live does have but the best stat I felt was that when we are logged into Xbox Live we access Marketplace 50% of the time, something about that tells that Xbox Live Marketplace is very successful. There are more stats after the break from the press release. Stay tuned for more coverage of GDC 07 all week long.

Today Microsoft has started taking registrations for its upcoming Games for Windows Live beta testing which allows PC game players to play cross platform with Xbox 360 players. The service is in Shadowrun (a beta I’m in) and other titles to have some Live functions on PC are UNO and Geometry Wars also. Sign up for the beta if you want, it is limited time only. I know I’m in, are you?

Tommorow between 2:00 A.M. PST and 5:00 A.M. PST Xbox Live and Xbox.com won’t be working. Stores aren’t open then so its alright if you don’t have the Crackdown co-op at the time in the U.S. but the U.K. may be affected.

No Multiplayer in Bioshock January 22, 2007

A 2K Rep was asked wheter or not Bioshock would include any multiplayer aspects. Here is her response:

“There will be no multiplayer (hold on before you complain!!!!) but for a very specific reason. BioShock features a compelling storyline that revolves around the experiences of one man as he enters the decaying world of Rapture. Having a multiplayer component would have compromised the story we were trying to tell so we made the decision to keep this game as a single player experience. There will be an online component, however, where new content can be downloaded.”

Like the Bioshock image? Now I can get the high res 2K Games and Sports screenshots from them!!!! A new category has been added to the sidebar list with 2K Games.

Planet Xbox 360 interviewed the Gamerscoreblog crew at the Lost Planet launch event. They talk about what forum posters they listen to and what ones they ignore so listen to it so they can listen to you on the forums :). It’s a good interview. They also discuss the rumors around Xbox 360 and more.

Deaconblade360 from Unscripted360 is giving away five copies of Lost Planet if you can correctly answer three trivia questions, head over to his blog and check it out and maybe win a free copy (he has 5 that he is giving away) of what will be a fantastic game. Be nice to him though, he might be still in shock about the Dallas Cowboys. E-A-G-L-E-S EAGLES!

Still No Pinatas and Arms December 26, 2006

Last week Major Nelson wasn’t connected to his computer so he couldn’t post the Top Ten for Xbox Live, he was back at his computer posting away again today after his Christmas with the Xbox Live Top Ten back. After a pretty strong start Small Arms has dipped off significantly not even making the Xbox Live top ten list, it appears as all arcade titles are that way. They do good in their first week of release then everyone moves on to the next title (well other than Novadrome which didn’t make the list.) Viva Pinata has never cracked the top ten though, I don’t know why. It feels like this is Pshyconauts all over, a critcally acclaimed game that no one plays. Hopefully it picks up some steam soon. For the rest here is what rounds out the Top Ten with Gears of War still on top.

Xbox 360 Top Live Titles (UU’s)
1 Gears of War
2 Call Of Duty 3
3 Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Vegas
4 Assault Heroes
5 Madden NFL 07
6 Call of Duty 2
7 Oblivion
8 Ghost Recon 3
9 Saints Row
10 Tony Hawk’s Project 8 Demo

Xbox 360 Snowman December 16, 2006

Microsoft sent all members of Xbox Live a holiday greeting card today linking them to here, where you would whack a Snowman like a pinata but it is the Xbox 360 snowman! It said there’d be a reward and it wasn’t that good though. A 20% off a Zune accesory. I was hoping for an arcade game. Then there are some links to Xbox 360 sites with more product information. Oh well, it was fun to whack the snowman!
